Hinsdale Community Preschool offers programs accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All classes encourage children to learn and grow in a developmentally appropriate environment using a child-centered, play-based approach to learning. Each program leads naturally to the next based on the child’s own development and needs. Your child must turn of age by September 1st to enroll in any of the classes listed below, except Just For Me, which will accept children once they turn 2 ½ throughout the school year. All classes run for the full school year (September-May), and require a minimum of 5 students. The maximum varies from 12 to 20 students.

Registering for a class is very easy. Simply go to the forms page and complete the following:

• Fill out the entire Registration Form.
• Read and sign the Agreement Letter.
• Return Registration Form, Agreement Letter, and Registration Fee ($100 for first child, $50 for each additional child) to the school's registration box or mail to The Hinsdale Community Preschool Registrar, 415 West Eighth Street, Hinsdale, IL 60521.

Enrollment Policies

The HCP enrollment policy that describes the decision making process for registration is summarized below for your information.

Open Registration (for NEW students not currently enrolled in any program)

Open Registration forms will be processed after priority registration is completed at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 14th, 2010. The preference order for new families on the wait list is described below. All open spaces will be filled based on the wait list preference order listed below and upon receipt of the registration fee and documents. Forms not returned within 3 days of being contacted by the registrar may be in jeopardy of losing their spot to the next person on the wait list.

Wait List preference order shall be as follows

Any Senior who needs to repeat the Senior class; a child who is currently enrolled in our school; a child whose parent served as a Board Member; a child whose sibling has attended our school; a child whose parent attended our school; a child whose name was on the previous year’s waiting list, and a new family to the school (selected in order of date of first contact with the registrar).

If you would like to remain on the wait list for a class that is currently full, please make a note of this on the registration form. You will receive a confirmation letter with your guaranteed spot, along with notice that you are still on the wait list for a class that is currently full. The registrar will contact you if an opening in a full class becomes available.
