SCRIP Fundraising Information
What is Scrip?
Scrip is an everyday gift card or certificate from stores we all shop at. We
order these gift certificates through a company called Manna. Manna offers
different percentages to our school based on each companies participation level.
For example, Starbucks gives our school 8% back on the face value of the card,
Max and Erma’s gives us 14%. The percentages range anywhere between 2 and 30%.
It’s that simple. This is a no brainer if we take the time to think about our
purchases, a little in advance. In the two years we have been running this
program we have doubled our profits! With this programs success, HCP could reach
our fundraising goals without any extra expenses to us, the parents. All we have
to do is order gift cards-certificates (SCRIPS) from stores we purchase from
everyday and HCP profits. The most important parts of this program are
participation, getting familiar with the stores we can utilize and ordering
certificates (SCRIPS) ahead of time.
You won’t need to buy anything different or sell anything to your families or
neighbors. “Shop with Scrip” for all your purchases and we all profit!
Here’s an example:
You purchase $400 in “Jewel” gift cards this month. We place your orders for the
scrip and pay only $380. HCP earns $20. If 200 families participate at $400 per
month, HCP will earn $4,000 per month. Think about the potential if we also
include Starbucks, Toys R Us, Movie Theaters, Walgreens, Home Improvement
stores, family vacations to Walt Disney World or Land, gas stations, William
Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Amazon.com, Macys, Kohls and the many, many restaurants
available.
How can you “Shop with Scrip”?
1. Twice a month you can drop off your
order form and check at the
SCRIP box in the hall. Checks payable to HCP.
2. Review your spending needs and the participating stores. They are updated
throughout the year so check back often. Determine which gift cards you’d like
to purchase and the denominations. Keep in mind, gift cards for babysitters,
housekeepers, etc. Especially at the holiday season and birthdays too!
3. Your SCRIP order will be ready the following Wednesday after the Friday due
date.

in the hall, but the most current one will be available online. Our goal this
year is $4000 and with everyone’s participation, we are confident we can reach
this goal together. There is no limit to the potential of this program, it just
takes your dedication and support. We look forward to another successful year at
our great school.
